coreopsis, marigold, tango cosmos print on silk mounted on khadi handmade cotton rag paper.

In April 2022 Alysha planted the seeds for a dye garden at Reunity Resources in Santa Fe, NM. The product of a long season of tender care to the more than 600 plants that rooted, this print was created in the field during the 2022 summer season.

A portion of all sales from this series will go to Reunity Resources - a local nonprofit that practices closed-loop, localized food systems while promoting equitable food access and providing agricultural & environmental education to increase access to and participation in sustainable land stewardship.

Alysha Colangeli is a multi-disciplinary eco-artist living and working in the high desert of Northern New Mexico.

Through weaving, natural dyes and pigment making, she creates work that cultivates connections to place and memory. Her work is heavily process-based, beginning with growing or foraging many of the plants she uses for dye, preserving kitchen scraps that can be used for making color and collecting stones or soil for earthen pigments. She is committed to ethically sourcing the materials used in her work.

Beyond wall pieces, she also creates immersive installations that both utilize and mimic nature, engaging all the senses. A semi-permanent installation, The Secret Garden Room, can be experienced at Meow Wolf’s House of Eternal Return in Santa Fe, NM.

Alysha Colangeli received a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2011. Her work and other collaborations have been shown in the U.S. and Canada and have been featured in: The Huffington Post, Inhabitat NYC, The Cut, New York Times Style, NPR, The Telegraph, AZ Central, LA Times and the Santa Fe New Mexican.
